Model Casting Event
Top Model Agency Model Search
During Pageant Week, Miss American Teen and Collegiate will be hosting an exclusive model casting event for the top modeling agencies and industry leaders with offices in Miami, Miami Beach and South Florida. This is a unique opportunity for delegates with a serious interest in modeling to get seen and possibly signed by a major model and talent agency. As the third largest modeling market in the U.S., with the second largest Fashion Week , the Miami modeling market provides great opportunity to obtain work with major corporate clients and appear in top fashion magazines around the world. Miami is a major year-round destination for fashion photography as well as the host of the largest resort/swim wear fashion event in the country ("Swim Miami").
The Model Search is being provided free of charge to registered National delegates, but is not open to the public. It is not a scored event, nor a competition. Pre-registration for this special event, along with submission of photographs for our model composite book, is required. A complete list of confirmed agencies will be provided in advance. All agencies have been carefully vetted by MATC. Based on enrollment, MATC may increase or reduce the number of agencies participating in this event. Sign-up for more information.
401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132
Bayside Marketplace, a vibrant waterfront mall in downtown Miami—and the city’s most-visited attraction—sits above Biscayne Bay and features many shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Featuring a wide variety of food items from around the world, visitors can also take a short cruise around Biscayne Bay and some of Miami's most notorious destinations. The open-air market has more than 100 shops ranging from apparel to bath products to electronics, and often live performers are on hand to keep shoppers entertained.
During our National Pageant Week, delegates will have an opportunity to be cast as runway and/or print models in our annual fashion event. Fashion events are fashion shows, trunk shows or demonstrations of retail products to retail industry buyers or the general public. Models will attend fittings, hair and makeup and photoshoots with industry professionals during the event as they would when working as a professional model. This will be an opportunity to gain experience, industry contacts and professional photos for the model's portofolio. Models will also compete in our Cover Model competition for a shot at being a featured model in an actual ad for a designer.
Tanya Marie Design Trunk Show
Delegates will participate in a model casting where they could be selected to walk in a trunk show for buyers to premier the latest Tanya Marie Design collection. Known for serving up alluring on-trend fashions that complement the female anatomy perfectly, Tanya Marie Design is the fashion creative genius behind such celebrity clients as Beyonce, Cynthia Bailey, Jada Pinkett Smith and many well-known actors, musicians, celebrity wives and fashion icons.
COVID-19 Refund Policy Update
Due to travel and meeting restrictions from the COVID-19 Pandemic, MATC has decided to revise its Refund Policy to take into account the possibility of having to cancel our in-person 2020 National Pageant. Our goal is to produce our National Pageant with a start date during the Summer, but no later than Labor Day Weekend, September 4-7, 2020. Should it not be feasible, or permissible to produce the pageant during the target time frame, we will provide prepaid delegates with full refunds, less any out-of-pocket purchases we have made on their behalf (primarily the cost of a custom sash with rhinestones, state crown and postage, a $120 expense). Alternatively, delegates may opt to roll-over their enrollment to our 2021 National Pageant at the same fee as the missed pageant, provided they continue to meet eligibility requirements. Unfortunately, we cannot refund or reimburse any payments made directly to vendors, such as hotel, transportation, photography, hair and makeup, paid seminars or coaching. Delegates should inquire directly the refund policies of such vendors.
In lieu of an in-person National Pageant, delegates may be offered an opportunity to participate in a Virtual National Pageant to compete for 2020 National titles at a reduced fee. Delegates may opt-out of participation in the Virtual National Pageant, should it be offered. However, in doing so (i.e., proceeding with a refund) surrenders their 2020 title for possible reassignment to another participating delegate.
